Beyond it’s aesthetic value an abstract statue can also be sat on. This train of thought inspired the design of my stool. It’s name “struct” derives from the words “structure” and “construct” referring to the design process as well as the strict order of the three main components and the way they are assembled. Most furniture used for sitting consists of a sitting surface and supportive legs. When designing my stool I sought to create a new kind of seat-leg relationship by blurring the lines between them. The three identical pieces are aligned in order to create an introflexed geometric form.
